Canada #BK92 1982-1987 Artifacts and National Parks Issue, Complete 50¢ Booklets With Print Flaws on Panes

Four well centered and very fine examples of the BK92 50¢ booklet from the 1982-1987 Artifacts and National Parks Issue. Each of these booklets has a different printing flaw on the pane that is not listed in either McCann or Unitrade. They are outlined in my blog post about these booklets (click here to read). The booklets included in this lot are:

1. McCann BK92De with a 80 mm pane, DF/MF paper, HF-fl greyish cover with sky flaws on stamps 1/1 and 2/1 (double windows).
2. McCann BK92De with a 80 mm pane, DF-fl/LF paper, HF violet cover and lightning strike on stamp 1/1 (carved ornament).
3. McCann BK92Fa with 80 mm pane, DF/DF paper, type 3 "H" on the cover, DF cover and "screwhead" flaw on stamp 1/2 (double doors).
4. McCann BK92Fb with 80 mm pane, DF/DF paper, type 3 "H" on the cover, dead cover and "crescent" flaw on stamp 3/2 (front entrance).

The contents of these booklets have the following characteristics:

Paper type: coated Rolland and Harrison papers

Paper fluorescence: various types as indicated above.

Printing method: Engraving

Pane or tab width: 80 mm

Tagging type: 4 mm GT-2 & GT-4 Tagging

Printer: British American Bank Note Company

Perforation or die cut: 12.5 x 12.0 Comb

Stamp colours: Sage green, henna brown and rose-lilac.

The covers display the following charateristics:

Cover fluorescence: As indicated above.

Cover seal type: Unsealed

Cover design: as indicated above.

Cover binding type: None, booklet folded along the cover

Counting tab on cover? No

Neither McCann nor Unitrade list these printing flaws, but $10-15 per booklet would be a reasonable minimum value, based on their scarcity. Only a handful have turned up in a lot of over 950 booklets. The booklets offered here grade VF-84, or VF-80 as follows:

Cover freshness: 10/10

Centering of the panes: 54/70 for VF-84, or 50/70 for VF-80.

Condition of cover edges: 5/5

Freshness of the panes: 5/5

Absence of visible cover flaws or stains: 5/5

Condition of interleaving and contents: 5/5
