A very fine NH single of the 1c orange Sir John A. Macdonald stamp from the 1973-1977 Caricature Issue, with precancel. Printed horizontal wove paper showing a smooth surface texture and giving the following reactions under UV light:

  • On the Front: low fluorescent bluish with a medium density concentration of low fluorescent fibres, and very few brownish woodpulp fibres visible in the paper.
  • On the Back: low fluorescent bluish with a medium density concentration of low fluorescent fibres, and very few brownish woodpulp fibres visible in the paper.

General OP-2 Ottawa tagging, 4 mm wide, of moderate strength (clearly visible to the naked eye, but not dark), and glowing deep bright yellow under ultraviolet light. Comb perforated 12.0 x 12.5. Smooth, creamy PVA gum with a satin sheen. Unitrade lists the smooth paper as bring either DF, LF or NF. This is one variation of the LF paper. Unitrade lists a VF-75 NH single of the more common LF paper at $0.75. The stamp offered here grades 75 as follows:
