A very well centered and very fine NH example of the 10c brownish black "Salmon Leaping Falls" stamp from the 1937 Long Coronation Issue, with unlisted compound line perf. 13.8 x 13.9. Printed on horizontal wove paper, showing no obvious mesh, and with smooth cream gum that has a semi-gloss sheen. Watermarked coat of arms upright (caribou antlers pointing right). Unitrade values a VF-75 NH single with the more common perf. 13.8 or 14.25 at $12. However, these compound line perfs are scarce, comprising perhaps no more than 10% of all line perforated stamps. Our price reflects this scarcity.
