An extremely fine example of the 5c Manitoba Prairie Crocus and 5c British Columbia Dogwood stamps from the 1964-1966 Provincial Emblems Issue combination First Day Cover. Black Rose Craft cachet depicting a map of British Columbia and Dogwoods. The envelope is on hibrite paper stock. The Manitoba stamp is printed on paper giving a dull fluorescent greyish reaction under ultraviolet light, with a sparse concentration of low fluorescent fibres, and the BC stamp is printed on paper giving a dull fluorescent greyish reaction under ultraviolet light. The stamps are tied by a crisp strike of an Ottawa wavy line first day cancel. The cover offered here grades XF-86 as follows:

Intactness of the cover: 25/25

Paper freshness from the front: 20/25

Paper freshness from the back: 8/10

Condition of the paper and edges: 10/15

Appearance of the handwriting: 5/5 (unaddressed)

Clarity of the postal markings: 15/15

Condition of the stamps: 3/5

Unitrade lists a Rosecraft or Artcraft cachet for a single stamp on cover for $2. Unitrade does not price combination FDC's for this issue, nor does it list fluorescent papers on FDC's. $4 would seem to be a more reasonable value for this cover. Note: the above scan is a stock photo as are all my scans for material after 1952. The cover you will receive has been carefully checked to adhere to the above grading standards, so while it (they) may not be exactly the same, it (they) will be of the same quality.
