A well centered and scarce socked-on-the-nose CDS used example of an earlier printing of the 4d deep mauve and blackQueen Victoria stamp from the 1887-1901 Bicoloured Keyplate Issue. Cancelled with an October 7, 1892 21 mm Lagos CDS cancel, which is unusual, as most 4d stamps received the 8 bar or 9-bar oval killers that were in use during the life of this issue.
