4 VFNH strips of 4 of the 17c multicoloured Maps of Canada from the 1981 Canada Day Issue. Different shades of dark blue, purple & violet, DF1/DF1 And DF1/DF2 Papers. The colour of the ocean, the grey and the shading on the Northern Territories part of the map shows considerable variation on this issue, with the oceam appearing very deep blue and then a more medium blue. The shading of the non-Canadian territory varies from light to dark grey. Finally, the shading of the Northern Territories varies from dull bluish violet to purple. One strip of 4 has a dark blue ocean, deep grey shading and deep purple shading. It is on DF1/DF2 paper. The remaining three strips have medium blue ocean and ligher grey shading. One is on DF1/DF2 paper and has purple violet map shading. The last two are on DF1/DF1 paper and have purple violet and dull bluish violet map shading.
