Lot 410 Canada #895a-896 17c Multicoloured Frere Marie Victorin, John Macoun, Rose, 1981 Canadian Botanists, & Les Floralies Issues, 5 VFNH Horizontal Se-Tenant Pairs & 3 Singles, Various DF/DF, LF/MF, LF/LF, DF/LF and DF/F Papers

5 VFNH horizontal se-tenant pairs & 3 singles of the 17c multicoloured Frere Marie Victorin, John Macoun, Rose from the 1981 Canadian Botanists, & Les Floralies Issues. The botanists issue is the only one in Canada to utilize a textured paper as strongly ribbed as this. The reason remains a mystery. The paper shows a wide range of fluorescence and includes: DF1/DF1, DF1/DF1-fl, with very sparse LF fibres, LF3/MF7-fl, with low density MF and sparse HF fibres, and DF2/LF3-fl. The Les Floralies issue includes 2 shades of green inscription and leaves on DF1/LF3-fl paper and an example on DF2/F5-fl paper.

Unitrade does not list any paper varieties on these issues, but out best estimate of the value, based on what similar varieties sell for is $10. The pairs and stamps offered here grade 80 as follows:

Centering/Margins: 50/70

Paper Freshness: 5/5

Colour: 5/5

Impression: 5/5

Absence of Visible Paper Flaws: 5/5
