Lot 446 Canada #704var 25c Silver & Multicolored Queen Elizabeth II, 1977 Silver Jubilee Issue, 2 VFNH Singles With Violet Blue Shifted Very Slightly To The Right, Resulting In 'Blurry Appearance', Normal For Comparison

2 VFNH singles of the 25c silver & multicolored Queen Elizabeth II from the 1977 Silver Jubilee Issue with violet blue shifted very slightly to the right, resulting in 'blurry appearance', normal for comparison.

Under magnification, the background can be seen to result from an at least 2 layers of color. The top violet blue layer is just slightly out of alignment, causing the finer details of the Queen's jewels and dies as well as postes-postage to appear blurry. It is printed on cream paper, glowing LFe/LF3 flecked under UV. The background is also a brighter blue than most.

Unitrade doesn't list these varieties, so we're estimating them at $10. The stamps offered here grade 80 as follows:

Centering/Margins: 50/70

Paper Freshness: 5/5

Colour: 5/5
